Cross Ash
Cross Ash ((ウェールズ語:Croes Onnen)) is a village in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. It is located on the B4521 Ross-on-Wye to Abergavenny road, some six miles north east of Abergavenny. ==History and amenities== Cross Ash is situated in the north of Monmouthshire. Nearby are the "three castles of Gwent",〔( David Walker, ''Medieval Wales'', Cambridge University Press, 1990, p.144 )〕 White Castle, Skenfrith Castle and Grosmont Castle. Cross Ash has a primary school which serves an extensive surrounding rural area. The Welsh language name, ''Croes Onnen'', is a translation of the English language name. In 2011 Cross Ash was one of two villages in Monmouthshire to have the Welsh name of the village removed from the local road signs in response to a protest by villagers.
